Cuisine: Indian Course: Snack/Dessert Serves: 4-5
Ingredients:
- Gulab Jamun Pre Mix : 1 ¼ cup ( I used GITS brand )
- Powdered Sugar: 1/3 cup
- Unsalted Butter: 3/4 cup /75 grams (melted )
- Cardamom Powder: 1/4 tsp
Method:
- In a large bowl add gulab jamun mix, sugar and cardamom powder . Mix nicely.
- Next ,add the melted butter and mix all the ingredients, until they are well combined and form a soft dough. Do not knead it.
- Adjust with more butter or gulab jamun mix, if required.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and keep it ready.
- To make equal size cookies, scoop out 1 tbsp dough and roll into smooth round ball between your palms. Flatten it slightly and repeat the same with the rest of dough.
- Place in a baking tray, about 2 inches apart from each other. You can make a pattern on cookies using a fork or a knife.
- Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes. It will help cookies to maintain the shape while baking.
- Preheat the oven at 160 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for 10-12 minutes. The bottom of the cookies will turn golden brown.
- Take out of the oven and let it cool for some time. It will be very soft when hot so handle it very carefully. It will turn crispy after 5-10 minutes.
- Store in an airtight container. Enjoy!!
