Nariyal Barfi is one of tastiest and simplest traditional sweet and my favorite!! This is a very quick recipe which is ready in 15 minutes and the barfi has irresistible melt in mouth texture and you wont be able to stop with just one!! Coconut barfi can be made in numerous ways ,however as I am always in favour of quick and delicious recipes, here is my take on the recipe which uses very few ingredients!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Can (approx 400 gms) of condensed milk
- 1.25 cup (300gms) unsweetened desiccated coconut
- 10-12 almonds/pistachios cut into thin slivers
- 12-15 cashews chopped
METHOD:
- First, grease the plate to be used for setting the barfi with ghee.
- Take condensed milk in a thick bottom pan or kadhai, and warm on low to medium flame.
- Add coconut to it and mix really nicely.
- Add chopped cashews to it.
- Keep mixing until everything is mixed well, flame should be medium to low.
- Mix until entire mixture gets together as a thick mass . Don’t make it too dry.
- Switch off the flame.
- Transfer the mixture into greased plate and evenly spread it using a spatula.
- Sprinkle the thinly sliced almonds over the barfi mix and press them gently so they stick to barfi.
- Put it into a cold place or fridge to set the barfi
- After half hourĀ cut it into desired shapes.
- Enjoy!
