Dry Fruits Milk Shake

Dry Fruit Milkshake is a healthy , nutritious and delicious drink packed with the goodness of dry fruits and nuts, combined with the rich and comforting taste of milk. It is very filling, and gives  instant energy. This is also good for fasting or vrat during festivals or a quick, no cook breakfast for those in hurry as it takes no time to put together!

This milkshake can be a fantastic after school snack or quick breakfast for kids, as dry fruits are really good for growing kids! If your kids are like mine who don’t like dry fruits then just add 2 tbsp of nutella and kids wont even know it has dry fruits in it!!

Different fruits and nuts provide different nutrition to body , but you can exclude or add any dry fruit or nut as per your taste or availability.

This dry fruits milkshake can be given to toddlers from one year , after all the nuts have been tried separately and allergies have been ruled out.

Ingredients:

  • Almonds: 10
  • Cashews: 10
  • Dried Figs: 2
  • Dates: 3-4 (deseeded)
  • Pistachios: 10-12
  • Cardamom Powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Milk: 2 1/4 cups
  • Nutella : 2tbsp (optional)

 

Method:

  • Soak almonds, cashews , pistachios, figs and dates in just enough water to cover them for 1-2 hrs.
  • Drain the water and discard it. Peel almonds skin off. ( It helps in better absorption of nutrients by body)
  • Now, take a mixer blender and add all the dry fruits in it, add 3/4 cup of chilled milk and blend until smooth. (The sweetness of dates were just right for us, you can add sugar at this stage if you want it sweeter)
  • Add the remaining milk and cardamom powder and blend again until smooth. ( you can add nutella at this stage  if you want)
  • Pour the prepared milk shake into serving glasses and garnish with chopped nuts.
  • Serve immediately
  • Enjoy!!
